We had a wonderful holiday bible school from April 26 to May 6 for children, both Christians and non-Christians. More than 130 children participated daily. We had three levels of ages. At the end of each day we tested the knowledge of the children and awarded those with gifts who had scored the highest in biblical questions. Most Hindu children scored well. There are good signs that the Lord works among the Hindu children. Please remember those in prayer; that they may reach a saving knowledge of Christ.

When we supervised the classed we were impressed by what we saw. Children from good families sat shoulder-to-shoulder with children from the slum and together they participated in bible school activities. This gave them an opportunity to gain understanding for the needs of the children with fewer means, both physically, emotionally, and spiritually. For instance the affluent children brought extra lunch boxes from home and shared them with the other children. The children from the slum are so poor and desolate, so the lunch these children had on a daily basis on the bible school was very important to meet their needs. For eksempel medbragte de bedre stillede børn ekstra madpakker hjemmefra og delte dem med de andre børn på en speciel dag. Børnene fra slummen er så fattige og nødstedte, så frokosten, disse børn fik dagligt på bibelskolen, var meget vigtig for at møde deres behov.

I asked one of the teachers of the holiday bible school what influence it has on the children. They replied that it was an amazing one at that. They'd had a special day of devotion where a number of children, mostly the older ones, surrenderes their lives to Jesus. We thanked God for the privilege that we had been able to attend this part of God's work, so that the Word of God could be sown into these precious souls and give them something of eternal value.

The month of June is a difficult time for Christian families; this is when they are to pay for the childrens' school fee, books, paper, and uniforms. We try to help with these needs. Please see if you are able to help some of them.
