POLAND 2007:
Mission report

Dennis Hansen (my youngest son) and I (Allan K. Hansen) were a week in Poland in the end of October, where we visited 5 churches, and additionally held a service in the prison in Strzelce Opolskie (app. 35 kilometers from Gliwice). Services were held in the pentecostal churches of Katowice, Wisla Czarne, Cieszyn, Bytom, and Gliwice. In Gliwice, which is the church with which we have maintained contact for more than fifteen years at this point, we spent two days with bible classes and the service Sunday morning.

Wisla Czarne and Bytom were new experiences for us. Wisla Czarne has an entirely new church building, situated in a beautiful mountain area. The small church in Bytom particularly works with those who have experienced the darker sides of life with violence, alcohol, and crime. They had a very simplistic building inside a dark alley in former fitness premisses. But God has no respect of persons; in His eyes all are equal, purchased with the same price, the blood of Jesus.

Everywhere, we met with a good response to the preaching of the cross and the grace of God, and what we have in Christ. I Gliwice the subject for the bible class was the work of the grace of God in our lives when we walk in the light (I John 1), and Saturday afternoon our starting point was in the epistle to the Ephesians concerning our position in Christ and the life that should be a consequence of what He has made us to be. Sunday morning we spoke of the freedom, into which Christ has brought us, so that we may put off the old man and sit at the table with the King.

We witnessed a wonderful openness for the Word in all the churches, and many sought the Lord for a touch of spirit, soul, and body. There was a gipsy in the prison who had long sought after God, and when God for even longer had sought after him, a wonderful union took place at the cross between the gipsy Cetlik and God. We prayed with him unto salvation, and he greatly rejoiced that God loves all people with no regards to race or background.
